Hi All! After a two year, international travel break we are on our way to Paris, France. With Covid closing down international travel for 2020 and 2021, we took our motorhome and traveled through much of the United States that we had never seen before. In 2020 we enjoyed the Dakotas and then found the headwaters of the Mississippi River in Minnesota and followed it south to the Gulf of Mexico and New Orleans.
During the summer of 2021 we spent about three weeks visiting Colorado, circling around Lake Michigan and the traveling south along the east side of the Mississippi River to Gulf Shores, Alabama. Both trips were wonderful. Our country is filled with beautiful places to see.
This summer is going to be all bicycles all the time. The first two weeks we are taking a cycling river cruise down the Rhine and Mosul Rivers from Strasberg France to Amsterdam in the Netherlands. We will live on the boat but each day we will get off for bike rides and sightseeing. We have never done anything like this before and I hope we like it!
For the pre-trip before the cruise, we get to fulfill an item on our bucket list and attend the finals of the Tour de France cycling race. After we get to Amsterdam we will be on our own for the next six weeks as we cycle through the Netherlands, Belgium and France to make our way back to Paris.
I look forward to sharing the ups and downs of our great adventure with you. We are keeping our fingers crossed that we don’t run into any travel trouble with the airlines. I think we are lucky that we fly Fresno to San Francisco and then have a direct flight to Paris. If we get to Paris on Saturday with our luggage we will consider it a big win.
