From Rio de Janeiro we flew to Santiago, Chile and then on to Temuco for the beginning of our cycling tour. The bike tour took us past a multitude of lakes and volcanos. We stayed over night in the Huilo-Huilo Natural Reserve, Malalcahuello resort and the towns of Pucon and Puerto Varas. At the end of the tour we took a bus south to Puerto Montt and then a bus and ferry to Ancud on the island of Chiloe. We bused as far south as Castro and then retraced our route north to Santiago (Central Chile). After enjoying a week in Santiago and a few days in the port city of Valparaiso we finally said “goodbye” to South America and flew to Easter Island (Amazing Easter Island).
