South American Map – Part One

Our path through South America has been a long and windy road.  We have flown more than we had anticipated.  With long, long bus rides over the mountain roads of the Andes and inexpensive airfare, it just made sense to fly.  We tried to take bus trips in each country so we could get a sense of the rural area, not just the cities.

I am making three separate posts with the maps of our South American travels in chronological order.  As we entered South America in October we never dreamed we would still be here five month later.

Part One includes our route through the beautiful and friendly countries of Columbia and Ecuador.  Peru is a classic tourist destination with Machu Picchu and Lake Titticaca.  We met more Americans here than elsewhere on our trip.

At the end of this leg of our trip we flew back to Lima to begin our Antarctic adventure.
